Terms of Service

1. What Flare is

Flare is a noticeboard. It lets people post short party invitations ("flares") and lets others join them using a phone number. Flare does not organise, host, sponsor, inspect, supervise or endorse any event.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if higher, and legally allowed to attend or host the events you interact with. Events serving alcohol require you to meet the local legal drinking age.

3. Phone numbers

To post or join you must provide a phone number you own and control, in international format. By providing it you confirm it is yours.

One active phone number may be tied to only one active invitation at a time — either hosting it or joining it. Once that invitation expires, the number is free again.

When you join a flare, your number is shared with the host and the host's number is shared with you so you can coordinate. Do not join if you do not want this.

4. Expiry

Every invitation expires 60 minutes after it is posted and disappears from the feed. Expired invitations cannot be joined.

5. Safety and validity are your responsibility

Flare does not verify hosts, guests, locations, event descriptions, the legality of any event, or whether an event happens at all. Meeting strangers carries real risk.

You alone decide whether to attend and you attend at your own risk. Meet in public where possible, tell someone where you are going, and leave if anything feels wrong. In an emergency contact local emergency services.

6. Event categories

"Girls only" events are set by the host; hosts are responsible for running them lawfully and respectfully.

"Agent recruitment" events must be lawful recruitment gatherings. Pyramid schemes, scams, unpaid-fee schemes, human trafficking or any coercive recruitment are strictly prohibited.

7. Prohibited content and conduct

You may not post or use Flare for: illegal activity; sale of drugs, weapons or sexual services; harassment, hate or discrimination; fraud, spam or phishing; impersonation; content involving minors; or invitations designed to lure, harm or exploit anyone.

We may remove any invitation and block any number at any time without notice.

8. No warranty

Flare is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Flare and its operators are not liable for any injury, loss, damage, theft, or dispute arising from any event, any meeting between users, or your use of the service.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Flare harmless from claims arising from invitations you post, events you host or attend, or your breach of these terms.

11. Data

We store invitation details and the phone numbers used to post or join them, only as long as needed to run the service and enforce these terms.

Hosts must pass a live face check before posting. Your selfie is shown publicly on your flyer, and a numeric face signature is kept to enforce one active party per person. By posting you consent to this. Face scanning runs in your browser; only the small selfie and signature are sent to us.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. Continuing to use Flare after changes means you accept them.
